Since the start of the pandemic politicians and bosses have scrambled to put in place arrangements for isolation pay. They have done it quietly and often only after being pushed into it by unions. In some places, these arrangements are kept quiet and workers are unaware of their rights. In some sectors, like Social Care, government has tried to introduce isolation pay but the implementation has been so poor that many workers are still being employed on poverty wages with SSP or worse to fall back on if they need to isolate.
